The Majesty Birthday Celebration

6:21 PM
My last post was in May and it's already August now. Apologies for not updating my blog quite often. Life has been fulfilled with nothing short of wife duties which I personally enjoy. hehe the cooking part especially! Although thinking about what to cook everyday is kind of tiring but nevertheless still enjoyable.

Last month was the month of His Majesty the Sultan's birthday. As usual, there will be celebration in the city which is Bandar Seri Begawan which the locals would call 'perayaan'. Simply means, celebration. People from all over Brunei will gather at the perayaan to make the festival merrier. There will be people selling all kinds of things ranging from foods, stuffs like clothing, shoes, accessories and etc.

I was actually looking for Cendol Durian but I don't think they're selling that night.

People selling fruits as well!

Lok Lok

Cheese Tofu Lok Lok
Wasn't a fan of Lok Lok at first because it was just some veges or meat on a skewer and you just boil in some soup or water with chili sauce on top as condiments. However, I was pretty tempted to try this one! It was really good! The sauce was nice, tasted a little bit like rojak sauce but no. yum!

We then went to the other side of Bandar which is in between SOAS Mosque and Taman SOAS. Lot more food vendors!

and then we went into the park cause we see a lot of bubbles up in the air coming from the SOAS Park (Taman SOAS).

So pretty right? I'm in love! hehe Well, the perayaan was alright for me this year. Not as happening as the previous-previous year. However, it was a good thing for Bruneians and also for tourist to come and visit during this celebration so they get to experience all this. Kids can also get to have fun at the park while the parents can snack up on the street food.

All in all, Brunei is beautiful!

See you in my next post :)
