Sunday at Piccolo Cafe
Le Fiance is back! Hoorah :D Since the Mr is in town, we decided to try some more new cafes in town! (More like I want to try :p) Did our thinking for a little while and I insist on going to Piccolo Cafe to have some dessert! and yes on the previous previous post, that particular cafe was closed but lucky it was open yesterday :)
The place is quite nice right? Pretty simple for me. Just a place for you to hangout :)
Their foods were basically just some light meals and dessert. Those are the sandwiches they put up for display at the counter to show you how the sandwiches looks like. The prices were just nice for me. *Thumbs up* (Sorry lah.. I'm sort of cheapskate but better punya cheapskate hahaha :p) Next are the dessert photos! They all look soooooo mouth-watering I promise.
You guys have to go to the counter infront to order your foods and drinks. I thought they're gonna layan / serve us while we sit! LOL (lazy bum much?) Luckily I didn't embarrass myself hehe So for the 1st round of dessert I ordered Belgian Waffle with Vanilla Ice cream and the Mr ordered some coffee, Flat white. Wanted to try Affogato however, again I'm not a heavy coffee drinker so I call off. haha
This place is lovely where they used the plants (fake one of course but pls do get the idea) as the decor, wooden seats and tables. They even have a logo which has an illustration of the proboscis monkey with a pitcher as the monkey's face! How unique is that? Represents Brunei very well! I think what they really want to represent is the nature we have here in Brunei? I'm not sure but yknow, from what I've seen lah! :D Oh before that, isn't this swing lovely?!
Will you look at that Belgian Waffle with that Vanilla Ice cream on top?! It was the BOMB I swear! I could finish them all by myself but sadly I have to share it with the Mr.. :p haha The waffle was really light and fluffy and it really went well with the chocolate syrup and ice cream. The Flat white on the other hand I'm guessing... it was pretty bitter since Irfan said it was sugarless so I decided not to try but he said the coffee was nice. :)
Belgian Waffle with Vanilla Ice cream - B$ 6.90 (if im not mistaken! Or was it B$ 4.90? Sorry I totally forgot how much it cost.)
Flat White - B$ 5 + (Can't remember as well)
Once we have finished our 1st dessert, obviously I am still hungry so I ordered some more dessert! Irfan were craving for the Strawberry Cheesecake while for me, I've been eyeing on that French Apple Tart! hehehe
Strawberry Cheesecake B$ 5.90 - It was sooo fluffy and light! Love the crumbs and the taste of the strawberry flavor is not so overwhelming and not too sweet too. The Mr and Mrs love it to every last bite! :)
French Apple Tart B$4.00 - Love the unique taste of the apple tart however I dislike the fact that they used green apple on top of the apple tart giving it a sour kinda taste. (which I'm not really fond of) Lucky they do served it with ice cream so it tasted good! :)
So elated / delighted / happy I get to try this place! Not disappointed at all, neither the service nor the foods. Yayyy keep up the good work and the quality of food guys, I will definitely come back to try out the sandwiches! ;)
Foods: 8/10
Price: 8/10
Ambience: 7.5/10
Verdicts: Since they're a cafe, they have quite a variation of coffee to choose from. Other than that, no heavy meal is serve as far as I'm aware. Just dessert and some sandwiches. Overall, a cool and lovely place to hangout with a friend or two.
