Busan Travel: Haeundae and Sealife Aquarium
Our real adventure begins shortly after we went out from our airbnb apartment. Obviously we have to get our USD & SGD money change to KRW first but that's the thing.. we do not know where. I have done an itinerary for us on the 1st day however it got hold up just because we spent hours looking for money changer. sigh
We decided to just roam around along Haeundae beach and go along the Haeundae District (Gunam-ro) until we find a money changer shop.
I've been searching for this place on google and so happy to find out that it was just across our apartment. Too bad we didn't get to try it, next time maybe. |
Haeundae Beach, Busan
How to get here:
Take the subway Line 2 to Haeundae Station, leave Exit 5 and walk straight until you see the beach.
I swear it was the most beautiful beach I have ever seen in my whole entire life! Clear blue sky, clean sand, clean ocean water.. gahh! Too pretty. It may look sunny but the wind felt like it was 20°c - 23°c something like that. You know that air-condition feel? Yeah, that.
Just right across the Haeundae beach is the Haeundae District which is along the Gunam-ro street (well, at least that's what google told me).
This was candid. No intention of any ootd kinda photo. haha |
Haeundae Traditional Market
Just go along the road in front (picture above) and you'll see the market on your right.
Done exploring the market we went around to look for the money changer but to no avail. The only one we saw is not even open! sigh and so we went around the area and asking people around the neighborhood on where we can exchange our money. Not many can understand nor speak English and it was another struggle we have to go through. Alhamdulillah after an hour or so, we managed to exchange our money at a bank! (The koreans are so nice and friendly when it comes to foreigners! Trust me)
Now that we have cash, we can get back on our itinerary which is going to the Sealife Aquarium! Just in front of the Haeundae Beach, so easy to find. If you found Haeundae Beach then you found Sealife Aquarium!
The entrance fee for the Sealife Aquarium was originally 29,000₩ however I checked the website way before I got to Korea and found out that they have 30% discount for foreigners only! Awesome right? Why not grab the chance while you can? Print the coupon and bring it to the counter or just simply show an image of the coupon then you'll get 30% off your fee. So ours became 20,300₩ each!
So be sure to check out their websites for more information and discounts!
The Jellyfishes are so pretty! |
At the aquarium there is a few feeding shows I might say going on at a different time so you might want to really check out their websites to know further details about those shows.
Opening Hours:
Mon - Thurs: 10am - 7pm
Fri - Sun (and Public Holidays): 9am - 9pm
Basically Haeundae is a nice place to stay and especially for Muslism tourist there is a few Halal Restaurants you can find along Haeundae street. Street foods are easily accesible along the Haeundae Traditional Market, for non-halal restaurants.. the restaurants are everywhere in Haeundae so fret not of going hungry. Koreans are friendly and willing to help despite not english spoken.
You can check out the map I shared below! Thank you for dropping by and I'll see you in my next post.
Love,
W
