High Frequency, too high?

Happy Belated Birthday to one of my bestest friend in the whole wide world, Aziemah! It's tad bit late but its the thought that counts right? hehe been wanting to go out with her for her birthday last 2 weeks but got postponed for gazillion reasons and god knows what. So we decided to catch up over dinner or some light snacks / dessert or coffee (Albeit I'm not a heavy coffee drinker) on Sunday night. Oh! Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha to all my muslim friends and family too! :D

Getting back to my story, I have not seen Ziemah for quite a long time. Don't even remember the last time I went out with her (It has been that long! haha) We thought of trying out new cafes in town but not sure which to hit! We ended up choosing "High Frequency" cafe for us which is located at Batu Bersurat in Gadong behind Le Deux Pattiserie and the Olde Cottage Restaurant building. The place is quite remoted though so you might want to really open your eyes while looking for the place.

Once we reached the place, I really fell in love with the interior. The place is quite cozy for you to just chill and hang with your friends and of course with dim lights you can't take pretty pictures right? Hence, you gotta bring the best camera you've got :))  Don't understand why restaurant / cafe nowadays installed SUPER DIM LIGHT! Dear cafes / restaurant, we customer need better lighting to take great / pretty pictures okay so please install better lighting. (Its true what?!)

Soon after we sat, the waitress greeted us and handed us the menu which I think the menu is kinda cool. You know, like some rustic old vintage paper during greek time?

Browsing through the menu, we came to realized that … the price range at this café is pretty high! look at the menu! /blur we couldn’t even afford to buy ourselves some proper dinner (kidding) that we ended up ordering fries for us both. :)) We both ordered the same drinks, Flat White. Honestly, I don't quite know but what I know is its coffee with the milk foam and pretty art on top!

It tasted quite bitter! Told you, I’m not a heavy coffee drinker. Well, I can tolerate a little bit of a coffee taste but not too much. Haha I almost poured in the whole bottle of brown sugar into my drinks! But I didn’t. LOL It tasted way better after I added in some brown sugar… almost like white chocolate dream from Coffee Bean. :))

Mentaiko Fries. Mentaiko is that sauce being spread over the fries which looks and has texture like mayonnaise. They said its from the Pollack or Cod Roe? (Practically its the fish eggs) Honestly, it taste pretty good and I love my hot fries being served with Nori (Seaweed)! As for Ziemah, she ordered the cheese fries which is good too. We were literally catching up over FRENCH FRIES! /wahaha

Cheesy Fries - B$2.50

Way too much fries lemme tell ya! hahaha We're pretty stuffed with potatoes! I think these fries can last me up to 6 months without eating fries :)) LOL In spite of the pricey foods, we both enjoyed the coffee and the fries. Can't tell if I will be coming back to this cafe anytime soon but will definitely come back for breakfast or brunch :)

Verdict: The price for the foods is way overpriced! People like me seriously couldn’t afford to eat all that. Hahaha The drinks are lovely though. Maybe will come back for the breakfast or the brunch menus.

I would like to apologize if my review does not match with yours but this is according to my experience. hehe I heard many good reviews about this place and maybe its just my timing is not right.
