Weekend at Flap Jack
There's a new eatery place in town that I have seen quite a lot on my Instagram called the FlapJack House. Hence I search about this place and asked about the foods and everything from my good friend, Aileen and had a good respond to it. The place is located just behind the 'The Arch' of Taurean Cafe near to Pasar Malam / Roundabout Gadong.
Since the Mr were back for the weekend last 2 weeks, we decided to try this new place the night before he went back to KL.
All of the pictures taken were iphone captured. Excuse the photo quality /blush
Lets start with the interior first. I'm pretty sure the cafe / restaurants nowadays are working towards this kinda concept. I've seen quite a few of them already in Brunei. Which I think its something new but then again, its pretty much overrated. haha
Alright, enough with the interior. We're having supper since the time shown on my watch was around 10pm hahaha yeah way to eat for dinner so lets categorize this as supper okay? :P No they do not have fancy iPad for you to order but their menu is on some sort of pizza wood peel? I like it though. hehehe
We asked the waiter what's famous there and what would people usually order as we're a first timer so we're not sure what to order. (That's a good tip btw, also ask what's their best menu / what would people usually order if you do not know what to order)
Hot chocolate for the lady and Flat White for the guy. Not so rich in cocoa however it didn't taste to sweet so which is good for me. Alongside with the hot choco, they served 2 cute marshmallows with it. Adorable (though they should give us more marshmallows! Don't be so karit (stingy) please? :P haha) As for the Flat white, I didn't get to taste as I'm not a big fan of coffee but according to my fiance it was really good compared to some places (I don't know where hahaha just making a comparison okay!) /wahaha
Moving on to the foods, guess who ordered Nachos and who ordered the Baa-Baa Burger (Lamb)?
A closer look to our Nachos and Lamb burger!
Look at that GIGANTIC BURGER! hahaha sooooo.. I ordered the Lamb burger instead of my fiance! No I don't have any big appetite! (indenial :)) ) I missed my dinner hence the "heavy" supper and my fiance have already eaten earlier so that explains the Nachos. (Super Indenial still)
Irfan were nuts about the nachos, he loved it! I would include the screenshot of his review but ... NAH! haha :)) You can simply taste everything, the nachos, the minced beef, the not so overwhelming sauce and the cheese! Yum *Thumbs up* Price for nachos - B$ 6.90
As for the lamb burger, it was soooooo hearty and juicy! I swear I want to have some more! The buns were soft too so its pretty good to eat with all the buns. hehe Why did I say that? Simply because some restaurant that serves burger, the buns that comes with the burger patties are usually cold and hard so I will leave the top bun aside and just eat the lower bun with the burger patty. However, this one was GREAT and the taste were spot on! Price for Baa-Baa burger - I don't quite remember but around B$9.90?
It was a lovely night, accompanied by great food and partner. For those who gave a bad review about this place, I suggest you to try other food on their menus. I have yet to try other dishes on their menu though so I will definitely come back! All in all, this place is #foodlover approved! :D
Food: 8/10
Price: 7.5/10
Ambience: 7.5/10 (Really love the ambience at late night, the interior was lovely too and not to mention clean!)
Verdict: They're famous for their crepes but I chose their burgers instead and I really loved it. Coming back next time for their crepes and other stuff! The drinks were great, the foods were great, the service were great! You can never ask for more :)
