The Fisherman

Received a sudden text from a close friend last night, "Kastah dinner!" :)) 

Fiqah texted me around after Maghrib Prayer asking me out to dinner and so I agreed. We both have decided to try out this new shabu-shabu place just near to my place called "The Fisherman Restaurant & Catering" and "Nelayan" in malay. :) I've been hearing people talking about that place but never got the chance to look for that place to try. Last night I'm pretty much lucky that Fiqah asked me out LOL :p

The place is not an A plus quality restaurant though so set your expectation low. hehe It's very cincai kinda restaurant I must say? Not like the one you see in Shabulicious or Shinobu or Little Hotpot, nothing like them. Very low budget kinda shabu-shabu place. 

The few condiments compared to the ones in Shabulicious / Shinobu / Little Hotpot / Icebar Shabu2. However, I really like that soy sauce with cut chili condiment! Spicy and the bomb! :D There were also some noodles like yellow noodles, mee hoon, kueh teow and I don't remember what. hehe Below are the foods you need for shabu-shabu and BBQ! All marinated for the BBQ! Yayy! from Honey to BBQ to Black pepper flavour for the chicken, beef and lamb! Yums :D 

There are also wide varieties of assorted frozen food for shabu-shabu! Aside from the frozen food, they do serve seafood as well! Crab, Prawns, Satak (A family of prawn) Fish, Clam and Mussels! I'm already loving the choices :))

Time to grill / BBQ those prawns and marinated chicken, beef and lamb! YUMS /wahaha

As you can see, they used the portable stove along with the pot for the soup and the place for us to BBQ our food. Unlike those high quality / standards shabu-shabu restaurant. We kinda like it though :) hehe I ordered Tom Yam Soup and Fiqah ordered the Chicken soup. The Tom Yam soup was a bit too sour to my liking, love the spicyness though. I didn't get to taste the chicken soup but according to Fiqah it was alright. 

I passed on the shabu-shabu part leaving the soup unattended LOL =)) and moved on with the BBQ. Literally fell in love with the BBQ part as the taste of the marinated chicken, beef and lamb were superb! I went for the beef and lamb though! hehe Now I want some more! /floor 

We stayed there for 2 freaking hours! Can you believe that? hahaha we totally smell like BBQ HUMANS! =)) as the restaurant offered "all you can eat" shabu-shabu and BBQ, that pretty much explains why we stayed there for 2 hours. hahaha /blush

Ending the night with some old school dessert, Ice cream with crunchy wafer cone! 

I loved it. Great combination after eating hot steamy spicy shabu-shabu and BBQ! That was choco mint flavour, my favorite. :) Everything is just for BND$15, so why wait?! Go and try this new place out! There's a lot more to improve on the taste of the soup and the cleanliness of the place but all in all, thumbs up! :D

Verdict: Love the wide varieties of foods serve for shabu-shabu and BBQ grill. Not going for the shabu-shabu again but will definitely come back for the BBQ!
